VILLAGE OF WHITE PIGEON

USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING REPORT (PER) FOR WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PHASE II AND PHASE III

The Village of White Pigeon will hold a public hearing at the regularly scheduled monthly Council Meeting on Wednesday, May 18th at 7:00 pm local time.  The meeting will be held at the Depot public space located at 402 S. Saint Joseph Street, White Pigeon, MI.  The Village’s engineering consultant (Jones Petrie Rafinski Corp) will present the findings of the Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for the water system improvements in the Village.

In general, the items to be discussed during the public hearing will include:

  • A description of drinking water quality needs, current problems and alternatives to be addressed by the proposed project.
  • A description of the recommended alternative improvements
  • A discussion of the timeline and anticipated construction schedule
  • A discussion of the estimated cost breakdown for each recommended project component

The funding for the project has not been secured but it is anticipated to be funded through the Rural Development program as administered by the United States Department of Agriculture.

Copies of the required PER is available for public viewing starting April 11th through May 5th, 2022, at the White Pigeon Village Hall, located at 103 S Kalamazoo Street, White Pigeon, MI 49099, during normal business hours and available for download on the Village website.

There will be an opportunity for questions and comments for the public at this hearing on May 18th.  The Village requests that all attendees present their input and opinions in a respectful manner and allow other participants to voice their opinions as well.  Your participation is welcomed and encouraged.
