Established in 1837
Incorporated as a village in 1837, White Pigeon is the oldest incorporated village in the state and was an outpost of civilization when much of the rest of the area was undeveloped wilderness. In 1828 the county’s first hotel opened its doors in White Pigeon and, in another county first, a stagecoach operated on Chicago Road in 1831 and 1832 traveling between Tecumseh, White Pigeon and Niles.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c (3) nationwide charity located in East Taunton, MA, whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The non-profit is pleased to continue their “Healthcare for K9 Heroes” medical insurance program for 2024 which covers annual policy premiums. Since 2016, the charity has donated over $375,817 towards medical reimbursement programs for self-funded K9 units. The Village is issuing a water boil advisory until further notice. The water pressure issue looks to be resolved. Testing needs to be done and passed before we are cleared from the boil. The village will advise when the boil advisory is lifted. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

When the very cold weather comes in over the next couple weeks to leave water trickling at the faucets if needed to prevent freezing, cracked and broken water lines. Also, remember not to leave your pets out in the cold too long.
